What does the Palace think about the ongoing feuds between some of its political allies?

In a press briefing, Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella was asked if the political feuds will affect legislative work.

"These are things they have to settle and I am sure they will, in time," Abella said.

A feud between the Marcos and Fariñas clans came to a head last May after the House of Representatives committee on good government ordered the detention of 6 Ilocos Norte capitol employees for allegedly refusing to answer questions about P66.4 million in Ilocos Norte's excise tax funds.

House Majority Leader Rodolfo Fariñas is a known ally of President Duterte while Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos allegedly funded Duterte's presidential campaign in 2016.

Meanwhile, two more allies of President Duterte - House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez and Davao del Norte 2nd District Representative Antonio Floirendo, Jr. - are also involved in a political feud over the alleged anomalous lease of land to a firm "wholly owned" by the Floirendo family.
