MANILA - Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa admitted Monday he once bought a carjacked vehicle from a superior without knowing that the car was stolen.

Dela Rosa, a former PNP chief, made the revelation after saying in an ANC Headstart interview that senators should respect resource persons during Senate hearings.

He said that as a former cop, he knows the feeling of victims such as buyers of carjacked vehicles.

"Biktima sila. Honestly, hindi nila alam na carnap 'yan. Ngayon nahuli mo na carnap pala 'yang sasakyan na yan, i-kwan mo, don't be so harsh on them," he said.

"I must admit nakabili rin ako ng carnapped na vehicle, nung bata pa ako sa serbisyo. Merong matandang colonel...Hindi ko alam na carnap. Binentahan ako...Colonel, respetado ko 'yung nagbenta," he added.

He said he turned over the vehicle after the Highway Patrol Group told him that it was stolen.
