The House of Representatives committee on good governance and public accountability denied Monday lawmakers have been approached by parties that aim to influence their legislative inquiry into an anomalous lease agreement approved by former officials of the Philippine Amusements and Games Corp.

"As far I am concerned, nobody has approached any member of the committee, nobody has also approached me... We will make whatever report is needed, kung anong nakuha naming findings, mga facts regarding the case," panel leader Surigao del Sur Rep. Johnny Pimentel said in an interview with radio DZMM.

"We will not be influenced by anybody o kung sino mang influence peddler to ika nga, revise the outcome ng committee report namin."

Pimentel's committee is investigating why Pagcor officials paid P243 million to the Vanderwood Management Corp for the lease of a building that was not even constructed yet when the contract was signed in 2015.

The panel will resume its probe after the President Rodrigo Duterte's State of the Nation Address.
