'WannaCry' ransomware and cybersecurity: a look-back, reminder

In early May, thousands of devices across the globe were infected with malware called WannaCry, which exploited a vulnerability in older versions of Windows.

Weeks later, with news about the attack easing, an analyst said hackers behind 'WannaCry' may have been unsuccessful in extorting payment from its victims, but ransomware remains a prevailing threat.

Peter Sparkes, senior director of Symantec's cyber-security services for the Asia Pacific region and Japan, sat down with ANC's Early Edition on Tuesday to discuss the recent cyberattack and how to avoid falling prey to it in the future
