MANILA - A Labor official who resigned after being criticized for being "pro management" is possibly involved in graft, President Rodrigo Duterte's spokesman said Thursday.

According to Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, Duterte has evidence linking resigned Labor Undersecretary Dominador Say to graft practices.

"I think it was good for him to have resigned because I know for a fact that the President already has evidence indicating this possibility of graft involvement as far as Usec. Say is concerned," he told ANC.

Roque said the issue on Say has something to do with labor recruiters. His resignation came amid talks on an executive order against "endo" awaiting Duterte's signature.

Say, who was undersecretary for Employment, Policy Support and Luzon-Visayas Regional Operations, has denied in recent news reports that he is pro management.

The resigned Labor official said he is now going back to the practice of management law.
