MANILA -- The Bureau of Immigration said Tuesday that with 300 newly-hired officers and electronic gates, queues at immigration gates should be faster during this year's Holy Week rush compared to previous years.

Processing time for passengers could be cut by 15 seconds each, Immigration Spokesperson Dana Sandoval said.

"Malaki po ang maitutulong n'yan sa pagpapabilis ng pila natin. We're expecting a lighter Holy Week ngayon, mas maikli po ang pila compared to the previous years," she told DZMM.

(That will be a big help in speeding up our line. We're expecting a lighter Holy Week, the queue will be shorter compared to previous years.)

Complaints can be coursed through supervisors or the bureau's social media accounts, she said.
