MANILA - As they retake the lead in President Rodrigo Duterte's anti-drug war, police are also stepping up their efforts in the rehabilitation of drug users.

In an interview with ANC's "Early Edition," Chief Insp. Noel Constantino, director of the Police-Community Relations of the Philippine National Police, said they will revisit the homes of drug surrenderees and encourage them to undergo rehabilitation.

Constantino said the PNP has been assisting local government units and the Health Department for the community-based program that they plan to launch next month.

He said the program would cost around P5,000 per participant, and their budget of P9 million will be enough to jumpstart the project.
