Investigators are still looking for leads 2 days after actress Kim Chiu survived a gun attack on her van by motorcycle-riding gunmen, the interior department said Friday.

"Very alarming na iyong mga insidente na nai-involve ang riding-in-tandem," said Interior Secretary Eduardo Año whose agency oversees the national police.

(Incidents involving riding-in-tandem gunmen are very alarming.)

"Naghahanap pa tayo ng mga lead at information dahil parang nakakapagtakaka naman na isang katulad ni Kim Chiu ay magiging subject ng liquidation," he told DZMM.

(We are still looking for leads and information because it appears puzzling that someone like Kim Chiu would be the subject of liquidation efforts.)

Two men on board a motorcycle on Wednesday fired at the van carrying Chiu. She and her 2 companions were unhurt.

Chiu said she had no feud with anyone.

Investigators are looking at possible mistaken identity in the gun attack, the Quezon City police said.
Authorities on checkpoints will flag down motorcycles that have 2 riders and lack license plates, said Philippine National Police chief Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa.
