Investigators are looking at mistaken identity in the gun attack on a van carrying actress Kim Chiu this week, police said Wednesday.

"Isa po iyan sa tinitingnan naming anggulo," said Maj. Elmer Monsalve, crime investigation chief of the Quezon City police.

(That's one of the angles we are looking at.)

Two gunmen on board a motorcycle tailed Chiu from her subdivision and fired at her van in the corner of Katipunan and CP Garcia Avenues in Quezon City, Wednesday. The actress and her 2 companions were unhurt.

"Wala pa rin kaming makitang anggulo dito kasi kung makikita mo naman si Kim Chiu, isa siyang mabait na aktres, isa siyang tahimik na aktres," Monsalve told DZMM.

"Ano pang magiging atraso para gaganoonin siya?" he added.

(We have yet to find an angle here because Kim Chiu is a kind and quiet actress. What could she have done wrong for someone to do that to her?)

Surveillance videos initially collected by the police did not clearly capture the gunmen's faces, he said.

Investigators are checking the bullets founds at the crime scene, said the official.
