The Philippine government is requesting the United Nations to remove more than 600 names from the list of enforced and involuntary disappearances, better known in the country as "desaparecidos."

Among the names the government wants stricken off are those of Jonas Burgos, Karen Empeño and Sherlyn Cadapan, activists said to have been last seen in the hands of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. - The World Tonight, ANC, February 20, 2019
