Senator Francis Pangilinan on Tuesday acknowledged that members of his household also harbor opposing political views.

But that hasn't gotten in the way of their relationship, particularly his wife, actress and singer Sharon Cuneta.

"We are no different from other families who are divided because of the current administration and the situation of the country," Pangilinan said on ANC's "Beyond Politics."

"Unfortunately, in my case, because we are public figures it's more pronounced."

Cuneta has repeatedly expressed her admiration for President Rodrigo Duterte, who opposes Pangilinan's politics.

Duterte has repeatedly slammed Pangilinan's Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006, which sets the minimum age of criminal liability to 15; the President wants it lowered.

Asked about Cuneta's reaction to Duterte's tirades against him, Pangilinan said: "Of course, she doesn't like it. Hindi rin siya natutuwa sa ganu'n and yeah, of course, she reacts."

But Pangilinan said that, despite having opposing political views sometimes, he would continue to fight for his advocacies.

"We will continue to do what we do and stand for what we believe in," he said. "Hndi naman problema sa amin ni Sharon 'yun."
