The daughter of slain radio host and environmental Dr. Gerry Ortega on Thursday fanned hopes that pressure from the public would compel the court to order the re-arrest of former Palawan governor Joel Reyes, the alleged mastermind in her father's murder.

The Court of Appeals last week ordered the Palawan Regional Trial Court (RTC) to nullify the finding of probable cause and the issuance of an arrest warrant against Reyes due to the "lack of evidence" linking him to death of Ortega, who had accused him of massive corruption.

"Marami pong iba't ibang grupo na nagkokondena dito sa naging desisyon," said Micaella Ortega, eldest daughter of Ortega.

"Sana po itong pressure na nagkakaroon mula sa iba't ibang sektor ay magkaroon po ng karampatang aksyon at maibalik po sa kulungan si ex-governor Joel Reyes."

She thanked Solicitor General Jose Calida and Presidential Harry Roque, who have criticized the ruling and vowed to seek its reversal.
