MANILA - Camarines Sur Governor-elect Migz Villafuerte insists he will be the one running the province and not his father, L-Ray Villafuerte, whom he replaced.

The 24-year-old Villafuerte, the youngest governor in the country, says he was not forced by his father to join politics. He cites his own qualifications including a 5-year experience in running a multimillion dollar business.

"My ears will always be open to my dad's advice. He will always be my consultant, strategist, adviser. Pero ako po - I am my own man, I have my own ideas and bilib po sa akin ang aking ama at alam po ng aking ama na ako po ang magpapatakbo ng probinsya," he told ANC Headstart.

Villafuerte says his priority projects will include installing water systems for households still lacking basic services and building classrooms in far-flung barangays.

He adds he has not lost hope thathe will eventually make amends with his grandfather, Luis, whom he defeated in the gubernatorial race.
