MANILA - What's considered weird on the Internet may not be weird at all.

The head of the Metro Manila Development Authority believes there is nothing wrong with the construction of a "mini-footbridge", which was dubbed by a netizen as "the weirdest project in the world."

MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said the mini-footbridge is inside a children's road safety park in Malate, Manila. The park has road signs, bike lanes, pedestrian lanes and a rotunda.

Tolentino said the mini-footbridge is not supposed to be used by adults but children.

Wala pong masama na mag invest tayo sa kabataan para sa kanilang safety in the future," he said.
