MANILA - Vice President Jejomar Binay on Tuesday confirmed that he has backed out his debate with Senator Antonio Trillanes IV scheduled November 27.

The vice president confirmed that he was the one who challenged Trillanes in the first place.

For his part, Trillanes said the vice president's decision only proves the country's second topmost official cannot keep his word.

"Hindi siya mapagkakatiwalaan. Wala siyang isang salita," he told radio DZMM.

He said it is not the first time that Binay has issued fighting words only to back down when a person calls his bluff.
