MANILA, Philippines - Malacañang will not stop the Senate from investigating the controversies surrounding Interior and Local Government Undersecretary Rico Puno, including his alleged visit at the condo unit of the late DILG chief Jesse Robredo.

"It is the prerogative of the Senate to call for investigations in aid of legislation and we respect the exercise of its prerogative," Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said in a text message.

She also said all officials of the Aquino administration have always participated in House and Senate investigations.

The Palace insists no one is untouchable in the Aquino administration.

This, as some groups continue to criticize President Aquino for defending Puno.
