Magsaysay calls Carandang arrogant, spoiled brat

Magsaysay: I want the names before this hearing ends please.

Carandang: We'll do our best.

Magsaysay: Cannot be 'do your best.' If you cannot even give an information as simple as who are the beneficiaries of the BlackBerry phones, then how do you expect me to trust you?

Magsaysay: How come you did not get any supplier that would offer you another kind of model unit?

Carandang: We did but they did not fall within the threshold of the price that we were looking at.

Magsaysay: Instead of buying a laptop which can do same functions at P46,000, you decided to choose an Apple Mac Pro at P66,000. You' re now known in one blog as the Imelda Marcos of laptop computers.

Magsaysay: Don’t you think you have failed in communicating that good ideas, good programs and good policies of President Aquino? Because he himself said the problem is in the messaging. His sister herself said the problem is in the messaging. What can you say?

Carandang: Was that a rhetorical question or did you actually want me to answer that?

Magsaysay: I asked you. You know, don’t be arrogant when you are being asked. I’m warning you, Secretary Carandang. You are not in ABS-CBN. If before, you had the temerity to put and insult elected members of the House when you were in ABS-CBN, sorry to say you are on the other side of the shoe right now. You still have a long way to go as long as maturity and wisdom is concerned.

“Can you clarify to us that it was beyond your intention to be arrogant with that statement,” sabi ni Representative Rodolfo Fariñas.

“Yes. I have no intention to offend. I would like to clarify that,” paglilinaw ni Carandang.

Magsaysay: Did the President sanction you to write this statement?

Carandang: I wrote it myself.

Magsasay: You wrote it yourself and it is your own opinion. Why are you using the Office of the President to put out your opinion?

Carandang: I believe that statement was appropriate.

Magsaysay: You represent the Office of the President and that is the difference. I hope you put that in your coconut.

Carandang: I regret that the exchange both in media and here has led to atmosphere of animosity. I merely was trying to defend my office against the false allegations.

Magsaysay: Is that a form of apology in your part?

Carandang: I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings.

Magsaysay: You know you don’t have to be so showbiz about it. I don’t know if the apology was sincere or not.

Fariñas: Mister Chairman if that were not sincere, I’d nominate him for a FAMAS or Oscar award.
