MANILA - Ex-poll commissioner Augusto Lagman again fired back at his former boss, Commission on Elections Chairman Sixto Brillantes, over the poll body's allocation of intelligence funds to commissioners.

Lagman earlier revealed that he received P1.25 million in intelligence funds in 2011, which he returned at the end of the year because he was unable to use it. He questioned why he was only required to sign a document that the money had been used for its intended purpose when he had not even spent the money.

Brillantes later twitted Lagman for his revelation, saying that the former poll commissioner had to return the money since he was not reappointed.

Lagman, however, said he did not yet about President Aquino's decision not to renew his appointment when he returned the intel funds.

"I did not know I was not going to be reappointed. That is money that I did not use. That is the people's money," he said.
