In 2005, Bert Lina divested Air21 and his other logistics companies to take over Customs. It was a short stint because he quit later that year with the Hyatt 10. And soon, he bought back the companies.

That's why people doubted his pledge to divest again this time, after President Aquino called him back to service in the wake of Sunny Sevilla's fiery resignation.

But Lina said this time will be different; he won't sell them to family or friends -- and won't buy them back. He also said he may even close one, 2100 Customs Brokers, because that's the one that deals with the bureau directly and the most, hundreds of times a day.
