The Philippines is still safe from radiation from Japan. Officials from the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute say the radiation from Fukushima has not posed any risk since the beginning. The PNRI says based on data from Japan the situation at the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant has not worsened even after officials raised the nuclear crisis to the highest level. PNRI adds they are ready to conduct radiation checks on Filipinos from Japan especially those who come from the 50-kilometer radius of the plant. Dateline Philippines, ANC, April 13, 2011
