Lobregat suggests review of protocols between PNP, AFP

In the wake of the bloody Mamasapano mission, at least one lawmaker wants a review of the protocols between the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Speaking to ANC on Friday, Zamboanga Representative Celso Lobregat said the miscommunication between officials and ground commanders of the AFP and the PNP Special Action Force (SAF) was a significant factor in the January 25 incident.

"There are several laws and even the protocols between the AFP, the PNP really have to be reviewed, even the protocols with negotiating with the other side," Lobregat said.
