'Team Patay' tag disappoints Hontiveros

MANILA – Team PNoy senatorial bet Risa Hontiveros admitted Monday she is disappointed by the diocese of Bacolod’s decision to tag her as “Team Patay” for her support for the controversial reproductive health law.

“I am disappointed as a Catholic lay person na nanniwala sa turo nila na that free will is a gift from God. Isa sa mga layunin ng Catholic education is the formation of conscience. Ang pakiramdam ko kapag may tarpaulin sa labas ng isang cathedral, for me it is a violation of separation of church and state,” she told ANC’s Headstart.

Despite the issue, Hontiveros said she does not believe the Team Patay campaign will affect her negatively in the polls since she believes majority of Filipinos support the RH law.

Hontiveros was ranked 18th in the latest pre-election survey of Social Weather Stations.
