MANILA - A new Social Weather Stations survey shows strong support for the mall voting being proposed by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

The survey conducted between December 12 to 14 found 2 out of 3 registered voters agree that the voting process will not be easy for persons with disability and senior citizens if it is done at their current precincts.

The pre-election survey also shows 3 out of 5 respondents believe the process will be easier for persons with disabilities and senior citizens if they are allowed to vote in malls.

Last month, Comelec Chairman Andy Bautista said mall voting had been approved in principle but the Comelec en banc has yet to issue a formal decision on the matter.
