De Lima 'not interested' in Comelec post

Justice Secretary Leila de Lima on Thursday said she is "not interested" a position at the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

In an interview on ANC's "Top Story," de Lima was asked to react to the statement of Comelec Chairman Sixto Brillantes that the justice secretary would be his best successor.

"I'm not interested in the Comelec post. That is my position as of the moment," de Lima told ANC. "And again, the President has not said anything yet," she added.

Brillantes is set to retire in February.

Commissioners Lucenito Tagle and Elias Yusoph are also set to retire next month. - ANC Top Story, January 8, 2015
