Comelec sets raffle for party-list slots

MANILA, Philippines - The Commission on Elections is set to raffle names of party-list groups participating in the 2013 elections.

Comelec Commissioner Rene Sarmiento said the plan will push through despite calls from some groups to delay it. The raffle will determine how their names will be placed on the ballots for the elections in May.

Some disqualified party-list groups have urged the poll body to delay the raffle until the Supreme Court decides on their petitions for certiorari.
