Around 245,000 Filipinos abroad won't be able to vote in the May 13 polls.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) took out the names of these overseas absentee voters (OAV) from the voters' list citing their failure to vote in two consecutive elections-- in 2007 and 2010.

But US-based civil society group US Pinoys for Good Governance says that's not even a ground for disqualification.

The group’s president, Rodel Rodis, alleged that Comelec has shown “disrespect” to overseas Filipinos because of the delisting. -- The Bureau, ANC, February 28, 2013
