Why is electricity so expensive in PH?

Amid the growing number of power plants all over the Philippines, power rates continue to rise and remain as a burden to consumers.

Sharing his knowledge and view on the issue, former Energy Secretary Jericho Petilla said the lack of government subsidy and "true competition" in the power sector have something to do with the high cost.
