MANILA – Rocker Bamboo Manalac couldn’t have found a more perfectly matched duo as he picked pre-school teacher Denise Sagun to take on songwriter Talia Reyes as the battle rounds of “The Voice of the Philippines” continued on Sunday.

The two women performed “Under the Bridge” by Red Hot Chili Peppers and coaches apl.de.ap and Sarah Geronimo couldn’t help but comment about how the two contestants sounded alike.

“The vocals are very identical, sometimes I can’t tell the difference,” apl said.

Geronimo also noted their similarities but added that Reyes had the edge in terms of volume, although Sagun “maximized” her parts.

“You complemented each other …I believe in both of you,” Bamboo said “The winner of the battle who goes to the lives is Talia.”
