MANILA, Philippines – Lea Salonga and Bamboo Manalac were heartbroken when none of the coaches of “The Voice of the Philippines” turned their chairs for former Imago vocalist Aia de Leon on Sunday’s episode of the hit talent search.

Salonga said she was a big fan of Imago, best known for the hit “Taralets.” “Grabe ‘yung angas niya as leader of the band,” Salonga said.

Saying leaving Imago was one of the hardest decisions she had to make, the 35-year-old de Leon explained, “May nga bagay talaga na kailangan mong gawin para mas lalo kang maging mabuti sa iyong ginagawa.”

De Leon’s audition song was Michael Jackson’s “The Way You Make Me Feel,” which failed to compel the coaches to turn their seats.

“Long time no see,” Bamboo told de Leon after her audition. “You make me feel bad.”

“My heart’s still bleeding for that one,” Salonga said.
