MANILA -- Young artist Jason Dy is Team Sarah's representative in the finals of "The Voice of the Philippines" after he defeated Monique Lualhati in the two-part semi-finals on Sunday.

Dy and Lualhati performed a slow version of the '80s classic "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" that, according to Lea Salonga, deserves to be released as a single.

While the two artists both did well in their duet performance, Salonga said Lualhati was the better performer.

Their coach, Sarah Geronimo, however, disagreed, saying that overall Dy did a better job.

For the live semifinals, the last eight contestants will perform twice: a solo performance and a duet with their teammate.

For her solo performance on Saturday, Lualhati sang Christina Aguilera's "Fighter," while Dy performed Brian McKnight's "Back at One."

Geronimo gave Dy a score of 55% on Sunday, while Lualhati got 45%.

The viewers agreed overwhelmingly with Geronimo as Dy got a commanding 65.19% of text votes, while Dy only got 43.81%, sending the professional "haranista" to next week's finals.
