Robots have been transforming over the years from science fiction fixtures into the next must-have gadgets.

UBTech, a 5-year old China-based company that has become a global name in humanoid robotics, recently introduced to the Philippines its line of educational robots.

The humanoid robots, which can be controlled via iOS and Android devices, can be made to do a variety of movements.

Banbros, which distributes the robots in the country, told ANC's Future Perfect Tech Shorts that even kids as young as 8 can learn how to program the Alpha 1 Pro robots on a desktop PC.

As a special treat for Star Wars fans, the robots will soon also be available in Storm Trooper form.
