A social enterprise in Negros Occidental is helping curb unemployment by training out-of-school youth to help them find jobs.

Bagosphere, which began in the city of Bagos in 2011, provides “short, immersive programs” that are closely linked to the jobs young people want to have.

Lee Zhihan, co-founder of the enterprise, said the program also matches trainees with employers to ensure that they have a start on their careers.

“I think we must look at different models of education to see how this potential could be brought up,” Zhihan said in an interview on ANC’s Early Edition.

The program also provides loans and other forms of financial assistance to students, Zhihan said. --ANC Early Edition August 1, 2017
