The government is celebrating the achievements of Filipino scientists as the country marks this year's National Science and Technology Week.

The Department of Science and Technology is leading activities from Wednesday to Sunday to highlight how the country's tech innovations are helping to achieve the sustainable development goals that are mandated by the United Nations.

But besides innovations in agriculture and health, DOST Secretary Fortunato dela Peña said they also want to highlight the technologies developed by Pinoy startups.

"We included also itong mga innovations done by our young people through their startups that we have supported," Dela Peña said in an interview with ANC's Future Perfect Tech Shorts.

Dela Peña said that many of the startups are still looking for venture capitalists to support their fledgling firms.

Some tech entrepreneurs have even registered their businesses in Singapore, to access a wider market of funders.
