Philippines needs to target non-voice BPO services

Gaurav Gupta, managing partner (India) of the Everest Group, told Business Nightly that the challenge for the Philippine business process outsourcing (BPO) industry is adding the next 500,000 workers. Most of the first 500,000 are in call center or "voice'' services, where Everest last year said the Philippines surpassed India. Gupta said growth needs to come from non-voice, where the Philippines has a good foundation but also some branding or perception constraints.
