Trade chief pushes small, medium businesses into global space

Trade secretary Ramon Lopez on Friday joined other industry leaders in discussing the strategies to push micro, small, and medium enterprises into the global value chain as Southeast Asian nations moved to integrate their economies.

The goal is to help them grow exports and take advantage of free trade arrangements, Lopez told ANC's "Market Edge with Cathy Yang."
 
Aside from imposing lower tariffs, Southeast Asian governments are also working on cutting red tape and enabling MSMEs to tap e-commerce.
