MANILA -- Western Mindanao Power Corp said Friday it would resume operations on Monday after reaching a "compromise" with Zamboanga Electric Cooperative Inc.

The settlement, which will give regulators time to decide the two firms' dispute, will "eliminate all power outages in Zamboanga City," said Western Mindanao Power Corp vice president for for business development Joseph Nocos.

The Alsons Power unit and the electric cooperative are locked in a dispute over the interpretation of their power sale agreement, which has been forwarded to the Energy Regulatory Commission, Nocos told The Briefing on ANC's Market Edge.
