MANILA - The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines wants the 2019 national government budget passed soon to keep the country's growth momentum.

The delay in the passage of the budget is already affecting the country's economy, with experts seeing GDP growth being cut by up to 2 percentage points, ECCP president Nabil Francis said.

"I think the situation is quite critical," Francis said in an interview with ANC's Market Edge.

The ECCP is also batting for the creation of a single agency that will oversee the country's water supply issues.
