The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board is warning public transport drivers against playing Pokemon Go while taking the wheel.

"All PUV drivers are reminded that playing #PokemonGo while driving is prohibited. Please report violators to us so we can catch 'em all," the LTFRB said in a tweet.

Meanwhile, the Metro Manila Development Authority cautions Pokemon Go users to be mindful of their surroundings and of following rules while playing the popular augmented reality mobile game.

The agency tweeted said users should not play the game while crossing the street. Players may also use footbridges while staying on alert.

The MMDA added that users should avoid trespassing and be on the lookout for thieves.

Drivers should also avoid playing Pokemon Go while driving, MMDA said.

Pokemon Go has become a worldwide phenomenon since it was first released in early July. The app rolled out to 15 new countries, including the Philippines, last Saturday.
