Even at its most devastated state, few would disagree that Taal Volcano provides one of the most eye-catching views of nature's beauty.

Before the volcano erupted on January 12, Taal was one of the top tourist draws of the Philippines.

Visited by both locals and foreigners, Tagaytay City is the perfect location to view Taal Volcano's evolving natural wonder.

On January 12, beauty turned to wrath as Taal shot out an ash cloud 55,000 feet into the air—an awesome display of nature's violence, grace and power.

The eruption blanketed the volcano island and nearby towns around the lake which the government was forced to declare a no man's land. It left a barren landscape with much of the volcano island covered in ash.

As Taal settles down, the cycle once again begins. The volcano's activeness, the clash between danger and beauty, will again draw people to the area.

But beneath the beauty lies tons of volcanic deposits that have yet to break out. For those who dare to venture, beware of its entrancing allure.
