TIMELINE: Update on the coronavirus disease crisis in PH
MANILA - The Philippine government decided to continue the lockdown in certain parts of the country after April 12, 2020.
From 4,648 cases on April 12, the number of Covid-positive cases jumped to 9,485 by May 4 and continued to rise. The government announced it would expand testing on the coronavirus disease on April 14, 2020.
Part 2 of the timeline begins with the extension of the Luzon-wide lockdown in April, to the issues that marred the distribution of the government’s emergency subsidy to poor families. In June, the government would downgrade the quarantine classification of Metro Manila and other parts of the country amid soaring COVID-19 infections.
