As the 30th SEA Games continued on its third day, Typhoon Tisoy hit the country packing maximum sustained winds of up to 140 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 195 kph.

Tisoy, initially predicted to be a super typhoon but has since slowed down, made landfall in Gubat, Sorsogon late Monday night.

Its effects have been felt as far away as Zambales, almost 700 kilometers away, and Manila, two venues where the SEA Games are currently being held.

This has led organizers to reschedule some events because of safety concerns.

The Philippine SEA Games Organizational Committee, however, promised that the regional meet will finish as scheduled
