MANILA — The Creamline Cool Smashers defied the odds and went on to clinch their eighth Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Championship.

Despite being down two sets to one against the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, the Sherwin Meneses coach team rallied back and went on to earn the triumph in five sets to win their fourth-straight championship.

And much like how they overcame Choco Mucho's advantage in Game 2 of the championship series, Finals MVP Jema Galanza bared that the same can be said of Creamline's campaign this conference.

"Grabe. Kakayanin ba namin 'to?" the former Adamson Lady Falcons star told a few reporters after the game.

Walang nagku-kwestyon samin," she added,

Also playing a factor in how they bounced back from their setbacks during the elimination round, according to Galanza, was how mature the Creamline squad has become throughout the years.

"Sobra talaga.

"Pero ngayon, mas mas-intact, mas buo, at mas maraming experience yung team ngayon kaya kahit anong klaseng laro ang ibigay sa amin talagang pinagta-trabahuhan namin tiyaka ilalaban namin," she continued, while also giving Meneses credit.

These eventually not only gave the Cool Smashers a championship but also Galanza the Finals MVP honor.

But for Galanza, it was their whole team who should be hailed.

"Itong last game na 'to, sabi lang namin na ibibigay naming lahat. At sabi Coach She na mananalo kami pag as a team kami maglalaro," she said.

What she is personally grateful for, however, is how volleyball has played a huge impact in her life.
