Former champion Shawn Porter is angling to challenge his “former employer” Manny Pacquiao for a career-defining bout in 2020.
Porter, who lost his world welterweight crown to Errol Spence last September, claims his former sparring partner is his top choice for his next bout.
“I do think that Manny is the more defining fight as me as well,” said Porter in Boxing Scene.
“He’s also the number one guy on my list.”
Porter, who used to help Pacquiao as his sparring partner in his training camp, has the option to chase another welterweight champion, Terence Crawford. But the Filipino superstar is the most lucrative among all his choices.
However, he has to fall in line first as two other champions are rumored to be chasing Pacquiao as well.
Both Danny Garcia and Mikey Garcia are aiming to get into the Pacquiao sweepstakes in 2020.
