Mayweather fight likely to be discussed

MANILA, Philippines – Top Rank CEO Bob Arum is headed to the Philippines in January to meet his prized fighter Manny Pacquiao.

The veteran promoter will time his visit with Pacquiao’s commercial shoot for Hennessy cognac.

Boxing Scene reported that Arum may also present details of a “Super Fight package” to Pacquiao.

Arum said the mega-bout between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. is likely to push through because both boxers really wanted the fight.

“I am really convinced at this point that Floyd wants to fight Manny next and Manny wants to fight Floyd next. When you have two fighters wanting do the fight, in my experience that's when a fight can come together quickly," said Arum.

Arum said that as of now, the fight is yet to be decided.

He, however, assured that the lines of communication remain open.

"Nobody's putting up any barriers to doing this fight right now,” said Arum.

"We still have these [investor] groups and I'm sorting through their offers and I imagine that Floyd is doing the same on his end,” he added.
