One of Mexico’s top boxing promotional companies wants to bring Manny Pacquiao to its country and have him fight there.
Promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions said there's a plan to hold a Pacquiao bout as part of its 25th anniversary.
Beltran, who has promoted the likes of Juan Manuel Marquez, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Jose Luis Castillo and Erik Morales, said he is already "in talks" with Pacquiao.
"I do not want to waste (the opportunity to get him), I will fight until I secure him," Beltran said in an article on BoxingScene.com.
"We are in talks, nothing is certain, but we are making the attempt because Mexico deserves to see him."
Pacquiao earlier revealed that his camp is in talks with groups regarding his planned return in April 2018.
Among those who are reportedly negotiating with him is Conor McGregor's camp.
Boxing promoter Bob Arum, however, denied that such talks are being held.
"It's total nonsense," said Arum in another Boxing Scene report.
"If there is such a fight, Pacquiao or any other boxer would give McGregor a beating. But there are no negotiations right now. McGregor is still spending the money that he earned from the fight with Mayweather."
