MANILA, Philippines — Ateneo de Manila University's cheering squad made sure the Blue Eagles heard its rallying cry in a pivotal basketball game.

During the break of the Ateneo-Far Eastern University tussle on Wednesday, the Blue Babble Battalion wanted a wider audience to hear — and see — a more pressing message.

At the end of their halftime routine, members of the Blue Babble crew stripped their jackets to reveal them wearing black shirts with spray-painted letters that formed the phrase "not a hero," referring to the controversy surrounding the burial of former president Ferdinand Marcos at Libingan ng mga Bayani.

Jovic Sosito, team captain of the Blue Babble Battalion, said the display was "the initiative" of his group and that it wasn't speaking for the school.

"We wanted to do it in time for National Heroes' Day since nag Game Two rin naman vs. FEU," he said.

"We're ready for what they will say. Alam namin na puputok sya on social media. Before we did it, tinanong namin ang buong battalion at handa kami lahat."
