MMA: Honorio Banario triumphs via unanimous decision in ONE bout

Lightweight fighter Honorio Banario defeated Rahul Raju of India via unanimous decision in the ONE: Conquest of Champions card at Mall of Asia Arena on Friday.

The former ONE featherweight champion had it tough against the tall Indian fighter, especially after the latter consistently shot for takedowns.

But Banario showcased his upgraded ground skills, at one time almost getting Raju in an armbar maneuver before coming away with the victory..

“Plano talaga naming tapusin, pero magaling din siya at malaki,” Banario said.

In earlier bouts featuring Filipinos, Jeremy Miado downed Peng Xue Wen of China via second-round TKO, while Rocky Bactol lost to Japan's Akihiro Fujisawa.
