MANILA, Philippines — Naturalized Filipino center Andray Blatche will team up with June Mar Fajardo and Jayson Castro to lead Gilas Pilipinas in its first FIBA World Cup qualifier against Japan on Friday.
Gilas head coach Chot Reyes announced his 12-man line-up on Thursday.
Joining the three veteran campaigners are other Gilas mainstays in Gabe Norwood, Calvin Abueva and Japeth Aguilar.
Young guns Matthew Wright, Roger Pogoy, Kevin Alas, Allein Maliksi, and Troy Rosario will also be seeing action.
NLEX rookie Kiefer Ravena completes the 12-man line-up.
Left out of the line-up were Carl Bryan Cruz, Mac Belo, and the injured Raymond Almazan.
The Philippines play Japan at the Komazawa Olympic Park in Tokyo Friday evening, before returning to host Chinese-Taipei in Manila on Monday.
