MANILA, Philippines – Former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) player Alberto “Big Boy” Reynoso passed away on Tuesday in Sacramento, California due to various illnesses.

He was 71.

“Power forward Abe King who also played alongside Reynoso plans and is now Chairman of the PBA USA Legends Foundation plans to bestow a worthy honor on ‘Big Boy,’” reported Ronnie Nathanielsz in Philboxing.com.

The 6’2” Reynoso earned the nickname Big Boy because of his strong upper body and big legs, which he used to barrel his way into the shaded lane.

Reynoso was part of the Manila Industrial and Commercial Athletic Association (MICAA) in the 60’s to early 70’s before entering the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) in 1975.

He was a key player of the Toyota team with Philippine basketball's living legend Robert Jaworski.
