MANILA, Philippines – Jaja Santiago returned from a three-game absence and promptly helped the Foton Tornadoes overcome RC Cola-Army in five sets, 25-20, 20-25, 29-27, 21-25, 15-7, in the Philippine Superliga (PSL) Grand Prix Saturday at the Philsports Arena.

Santiago torched the Lady Troopers from start to finish, tallying 30 points on 22 kills, five blocks, and three aces.

Import Lindsay Stalzer delivered 25 points on 19 kills and three blocks.

Against a veteran RC Cola-Army side, defending champion Foton banked on its steady services and solid reception to withstand the Lady Troopers' furious rally in the deciding set.

Foton now has seven wins against one loss as they approach their last two games of the preliminaries against slumping Cignal and rival Petron, in what will be a rematch of last year's finals.

"This is such a good win for us," Foton coach Moro Branislav said. "Although we're glad with the win, our focus is on the playoffs because anything can happen there."

"I'm just glad with how our team responded following our previous loss," added the coach, referring to their four-set defeat against F2 Logistics last Thursday.

Kierra Holt had 24 points, while Jovelyn Gonzaga and Honey Royse Tubino added 17 and 15 points, respectively, for the Lady Troopers. Army absorbed its fifth loss in eight games.
